About Us

Productive Self-Sustaining Citizens

1 on 1 Personal Development was established in 2011 and incorporated as a 501c3, not-for-profit organization in 2017. We are governed by six (6) members and one (1) honorary member. (see Board of Directors)

Since its inception, we have focused on three (3) areas.  Diligence in seeking and providing relevant resources and classes that would be most effective in assisting our clients in locating their missing piece(s). We made a conscious decision to be intentional about stepping outside the one size fit all, cookie-cutter box.

What we do

3.We're helping today-tomorrow

Approximately 33% – 40% of recidivism are the result of parole violations. These violations are most often related to employment, housing, substance abuse, mental health, and domestic abuse.
We at 1 on 1 PD recognize the importance of providing programs and services not only to returning citizens but to their families as well.
We understand if we are going to be successful in rehabilitation and reduce recidivism, our partners within the Penal System and the communities to which they return must consider the reality that a lack of sufficient programs is a major contributor. Additionally, we found that family support is greatly needed if returning citizens or at-risk youth are going to be successful in discovering their missing pieces. We must not forget the female population’s needs are similar but also include other services.

Charlie has made a tremendous impact on my ministry; her theatrical abilities allow you to not only hear what she says but see what she sees and feel what she feels. She is inspiring, outgoing, focused, and committed to empowering others. God has blessed her with tremendous talent, and she loves to share it.

Pastor Charlie Wilson is not only a dynamic pastor and teacher, but she’s also a true servant of the people. In addition, she has lived experience author who speaks openly and honestly about her life struggles in her book published. Pastor Wilson is an overcomer and understands the difficulties of returning citizens’ recovery and reunification. I’m happy to be one of her followers.

Grief Counselor 2 I have known Charlie for over 30 years. She is committed to assisting the incarcerated, youth and homeless. She started 1 on 1 Personal Development to help with clothing, food and personal items for the prison occupants. I call her the Energizer Bunny, because I don’t know how she does it all. She will tell you it’s all God. We in our Ministry group LOVE this woman of God.

I met Minster Charlie when I joined Second Mount Vernon back in 2014 and from then to now she has truly been a blessing to me. I know that she has a true Love for GOD and his People, the work that she dose in the community from feeding the homeless and providing personal hygiene kits to going in the Prisonnot only to preach, but teach life’s application skills, such as conflict of interest, Building Healthy Families, preparing resumes, AA/NA and counseling. She has a must read book ‘Blessing Before Praise’ it gives you an insight on how her journey started . She keeps it real with the pain and agony of finding her missing pieces that are experienced in a lot of people homes that no one would talk abut (my household included).
